Scandinavian Area Rug for Living Room

The foundation your living room has been missing.

A living room rug does more work than most people realize. It defines the seating area. It absorbs sound in open spaces. It connects furniture that would otherwise float. And it sets the emotional tone of the room the moment someone walks in. This handwoven Scandinavian area rug does all of that quietly.

The neutral palette and clean geometry create order without rigidity. The handwoven New Zealand wool adds warmth that no flat-weave machine rug can match. And because it's made by artisans in Nepal at 100 knots per square inch, it carries the subtle texture and tonal depth that turns a minimalist design from something spare into something rich.

How It's Made

Hand-knotted by artisans in Nepal using traditional techniques. The open, minimalist composition requires consistent tension and even color distribution across the full surface, a skill that develops over years. Production takes 10 to 14 weeks.

Materials

100% fine New Zealand wool on a cotton foundation. Dense 4mm pile. Colorfast and naturally durable. Safe for children and pets.

Available Sizes

4×6 ft · 5×8 ft · 6×9 ft · 8×10 ft · 9×12 ft · 10×13 ft · 10×14 ft Custom sizes available.

Sizing Guide for Living Rooms

For a standard living room seating area, an 8×10 or 9×12 rug allows all furniture legs to sit on the rug. For a smaller space, a 6×9 works with front legs only on the rug. Not sure? We make custom sizes, just reach out with your room dimensions.

A Note on Handmade

Because every knot is tied by hand, no two rugs are identical. Expect subtle variations in color saturation and texture, these are the natural marks of a handwoven Tibetan carpet made by a real person, not a machine.
