Floral Design Tibetan Rug
Flowers fade in a garden. In a Tibetan rug, they last for generations.
In Tibetan and Himalayan craft traditions, floral motifs are never purely decorative. The peony represents wealth and noble standing. The lotus embodies purity and the journey toward spiritual awakening. Chrysanthemums speak to resilience, the ability to flourish even when conditions are harsh. When weavers knot these flowers into a rug, they're weaving blessings into your home.
This hand-knotted floral Tibetan rug from Nepal features a rich arrangement of traditional flower motifs set against a deep, warm ground. The botanical forms are rendered in careful detail like petals curving, stems intertwining, leaves layered with natural depth creating a rug that invites you to look closer every time you walk past it.
How It's Made
Hand-knotted by skilled artisans in Kathmandu, Nepal, using traditional Tibetan carpet weaving techniques. Floral patterns are among the most technically demanding designs in rug-making the curved lines, color gradients, and organic shapes require exceptional precision at every knot. At 100 knots per square inch, the botanical details come through with clarity and softness. Each rug takes 10 to 14 weeks to complete.

A Note on Handmade
Because every knot is tied by hand, expect subtle variations in color and form. No two flowers will look identical and that's exactly what makes a handwoven floral rug more alive than any printed alternative.
