Buddhist God Manjushri Statue
The 14" Manjushri Buddha Statue, partly gold-plated, is a magnificent representation of the deity known as the Bodhisattva of Wisdom in Tibetan Buddhism. Manjushri, revered for his embodiment of transcendent wisdom, is depicted here holding a flaming sword in his right hand, symbolizing the sharpness of wisdom that cuts through ignorance. In his left hand, he holds a lotus with the Prajnaparamita Sutra resting upon it, a text that signifies the ultimate understanding of reality.
This statue, carefully handcrafted by skilled artisans in Nepal, reflects the highest level of detail and craftsmanship. The intricate design, from Manjushri’s serene facial expression to the flowing drapery of his robes, showcases the dedication and expertise that goes into creating such a sacred piece. The artisans have employed traditional techniques passed down through generations, ensuring authenticity and quality. The partly gold-plated finish adds a layer of radiance, enhancing the statue's spiritual presence and aesthetic appeal.
The gold plating is selectively applied to highlight specific features of the statue, creating a captivating contrast between the golden and natural bronze tones. This artistic technique elevates the visual impact of the piece, making it an ideal focal point for any meditation space, altar, or living room. The gleaming gold enhances the spiritual symbolism, representing the illumination of wisdom and clarity, while the natural bronze finish embodies groundedness and stability.
Manjushri is often called upon by practitioners seeking wisdom, clarity, and mental sharpness. Placing this statue in your home or sacred space can invite these qualities into your life, serving as a constant reminder of the power of knowledge and insight. It’s not only a spiritual tool but also a work of art that carries deep cultural significance.
The 14" Manjushri Buddha Statue is more than a decorative object; it represents the profound teachings of Tibetan Buddhism and the rich heritage of Nepalese craftsmanship. At Yuna Handicrafts, we take pride in offering pieces that reflect both spiritual depth and artistic mastery. This double base, partly gold-plated 14" Manjushri Buddha Statue is made from copper and reused turquoise.
Manjushri Buddha embodies the omniscient wisdom of enlightenment – the wisdom that discerns the true nature of reality.
He bestows intelligence, knowledge, wisdom, mastery of the teachings, eloquence, and memory. His name means “gentle glory” and he is especially revered in Nepal, where he is said to have enabled the founding of civilization in the Kathmandu Valley.
Manjushri’s left hand is in Vitaraka Mudra, the gesture of teaching and intellectual discussion. This hand also holds the stem of a lotus flower that supports the Prajnaparamita, or Perfection of Wisdom Sutra.
The flaming sword in his right hand symbolizes the power of discriminating wisdom to cut through ignorance, the root of all suffering. Manjushri Buddha, in this sword-wielding pose, is representative of the courage and exertion needed to realize freedom.
